Sticky Date Pudding
Sticky Date Pudding
- Place dates water in a saucepan bring to the boil
- Remove from heat
- Stir in bicarb
- Stand for 5
- Blend into smooth /puree
- Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.
- Fold in flour followed by the date puree and then chocolate
- Pour into a greased and lined 20cm round pan /individual serves
- Bake in preheated oven 180C for 55 mins or 25 min in individual pans
Sticky Date Sauce
- Prepare sauce by placing cream and sugar and butter in saucepan
- Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves and then bring to boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 mins
- Remove pudding from oven
- Stand for 10 mins and then turn it out
- Pour over sauce to cover top, dust with icing sugar, serve with cream or ice cream pour remaining sauce around
