Sticky Date Pudding

  1. Place dates water in a saucepan bring to the boil
  2. Remove from heat
  3. Stir in bicarb
  4. Stand for 5
  5. Blend into smooth /puree
  6. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.
  7. Fold in flour followed by the date puree and then chocolate
  8. Pour into a greased and lined 20cm round pan /individual serves
  9. Bake in preheated oven 180C for 55 mins or 25 min in individual pans

Sticky Date Sauce

  1. Prepare sauce by placing cream and sugar and butter in saucepan
  2. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves and then bring to boil
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 mins
  4. Remove pudding from oven
  5. Stand for 10 mins and then turn it out
  6. Pour over sauce to cover top, dust with icing sugar, serve with cream or ice cream pour remaining sauce around
